Date: Friday 14th November 2025

Time: 9:30am – 4:00pm (registration from 9:00am)

Location: Dampier Community Hub, 10 High street, Dampier WA

This is a meeting to consider authorising one or more members of the Robe River Kuruma People to make, and to deal with matters arising in relation to, a native title claim or claims over areas shown on the below map on behalf of the Robe River Kuruma People.

All members of the Robe River Kuruma People are invited to attend and participate in this meeting, being those Aboriginal persons who:

  1. are the cognatic descendants of one or more of the following
apical ancestors: Tumbler; Minnie; Rosie; Bobby Marawarru; Ruby Woolhouse; Johnson Alec; or Algy Patterson; and
  2. recognise themselves as, and are recognised by a substantial number of the descendants of the above apical ancestors as, a Robe River Kuruma person; and
  3. have rights and interests in, and a connection with, the land and waters of Robe River Kuruma country, in accordance with the traditional laws acknowledged and the traditional customs observed by the Robe River Kuruma People.

In addition to deciding on the claim area(s) and the selection of applicants, the meeting will also be asked to consider whether any conditions should be placed on the authority of the applicants, such as requiring them to bring certain types of decisions back to claim group meetings or the process by which they may make decisions themselves on claim-related matters (eg. by majority vote).

For people wishing to attend either online or in person, are asked to register their attendance by contacting Sophia Wildschut on 9185 5005.

Travel assistance is available. For further information about travel assistance please contact Sophia Wildshut.
